Adviser to Yemen’s president for Science and Technology, chairman of the National Committee for Atomic Energy, Dr. Mustafa Bahran returned to Sanaa on Saturday following a visit to the Austrian capital of Vienna.
Bahran returned after participating as head of Yemen's delegation to the 46th round for the general conference of the International Agency for Atomic Energy, which was held in Vienna between September 16-20.
In a statement to the Yemen news agency upon arrival, Bahran said that his country’s participation in the conference came as a result of developed relations between Yemen and the Agency and other atomic energy establishments in the world. Bahran added that Sanaa had obtained successes in the fields of sciences and technology, adding that Yemen signed a $1 million agreement with the Agency as additional aid for Yemen to use atomic energy in peaceful applications such as medicine, agriculture and water.
In addition, Yemen, he said, is committed to the international resolution regarding the peaceful use of atomic energy and radiation defense. (Albawaba.com)
