Yemen expressed opposition Sunday to a request by Washington to extradite a high-level Yemeni preacher arrested in Germany over links to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda terror network.
"Yemen asked the German authorities not to extradite Mohammad Ali Hassan Sheikh al-Moayad to US authorities because its constitution forbids such an extradition," Yemen’s SABA news agency reported.
Foreign Minister Abu Baqr al-Kurbi relayed the message to United States ambassador to Sanaa Edmund Hull during a meeting, the news agency added. (Albawaba.com)
