Xerox Emirates and UAE’s ME Printer magazine are conducting a joint project to personalize the copies of its May 2005 issue to all subscribers. ME Printer magazine’s front cover will carry the name and contact detail of the individual subscriber. The project hopes to set the pace for the development of this sector and is also timely since the May issue of the magazine has a definite focus on digital printing and carries news, views and features on the subject.
“Personalization in the Middle East has thus far been a marketing concept relegated to limited niche applications such as direct mail campaigns. We have taken a step further in popularizing this concept and have tried to expand the possibilities of personalization by extending it to the publication market, which by itself is novel and hitherto un-attempted,” says Morteza Karimian, Editor-in-Chief of ME Printer.
“It proves the fact that much can be achieved by complementing traditional offset with digital technologies. Our joint project with Xerox Emirates seeks to popularize the applications of digital printing technologies to a market that is still cool and cautious and is yet to take to this mode of printing in a big way. It also hopes to pave the way for more such initiatives in future,” added Morteza.
“The magazine covers were printed on a Xerox Digital Printing Press DC6060 and involved a high level of coordination between the publication, the printer and Xerox Emirates,” said Ayman Mattar, Xerox Emirates’ Marketing Manager.
“Xerox is the leader in the digital printing market and holds a large market share in the Middle East. By working jointly with ME Printer – the region’s most popular print communication magazine, Xerox Emirates has succeeded in propagating the capabilities of its innovative technology for printing presses machines among the print fraternity far and wide. It also highlights the possibilities of digital printing and encourages its early adoption by the region’s industry,” concluded Ayman Mattar, Xerox Emirates’ Marketing Manager.
