At the end of an official visit by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to Iran, the two countries issued a joint communique.
In the communique, the two sides expressed their satisfaction over existing mutual cooperation, described the Tehran negotiations as constructive and agreed on various issues inclding the emphasis on deepening bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation in all fields aimed at safeguarding mutual interests and exchanging political, economic, commercial, parliamentary and cultural delegations regularly, according to IRNA.
During his two-day official visit, President Chavez was received by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and met with President Khatami, Majlis Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, and Chairman of Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. (Albawaba.com)
