The exhibition at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar highlights some of Ibrahim Jaidah's most important works. It gives special focus to the process of developing buildings within his design studio, from sketches to finished buildings and the way Jaidah's architecture has gradually developed from a style with direct references to traditional Qatari architecture, to one that pays tribute to the International Style and eventually goes beyond it. The exhibition includes drawings, plans, photographs, models and computer animations.

Ibrahim Jaidah one of Qatar’s pre-eminent architects and Managing Director of the Doha based firm Arab Engineering Bureau forecasts that given Qatar’s extraordinary current economic and social development, the infrastructure development over the next five years will be equivalent to that built during the last five decades. His architectural works and visions, and those of his design studio, are based on the belief that he designs buildings that are going to be part of Qatar’s legacy. Mr. Jaidah also predicts that in the next five years the State of Qatar will be a reference point for contemporary Gulf architecture.

The exhibition is open to the public September 1-21, Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 am-5:00pm. A catalogue is available upon request.  Please call +974 492 7200
