ALBAWABA- The United States carried out two airstrikes on the Sahar District in Yemen’s Sa’dah Governorate, the stronghold of the Houthi group leader, marking the second consecutive day of attacks, according to Houthi-affiliated media, Ansar Allah.
U.S. President Donald Trump hailed the strikes as successful, dismissing concerns over the recent Signal app scandal, where a classified war plan on Yemen was allegedly discussed.
“The Houthis wished we hadn’t attacked them. They receive support from Iran, but now they are fleeing, and the worst of them have been killed,” Trump said, adding that Washington has told Tehran it must engage in negotiations.
Monday's overnight strikes targeted multiple locations across Yemen, including the capital Sana’a, where one attack killed at least one person and wounded more than a dozen.
A residential building in the Ma’in district, west of Sana’a, was also bombed, resulting in civilian casualties.
The U.S. justifies its ongoing air campaign—now in its tenth consecutive day—as an effort to counter Houthi threats to maritime trade and Israel.
National Security Adviser Mike Waltz claimed the strikes had eliminated key Houthi leaders, including their chief missile strategist, though the Houthis have not confirmed these losses.
