The UAE’s Ministry of Education and Youth on Sunday sacked 38 female expatriate teachers to make way for nationals, reported the Gulf News.
Adel Al Mutawa, head of Administrative and Financial Affairs in the area where the women worked, said that the teachers would be replaced by local women who would start work at the beginning of the next academic year.
He said 15 Jordanians, 12 Palestinians, eight Egyptians, two Syrians and a Sudanese had been dismissed.
The teachers who will replace them have been chosen from among university graduates and have been formally appointed, he added – Albawaba.com
