ALBAWABA- Iran has confirmed receiving a message from U.S. President Donald Trump via Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, marking a new escalation in the standoff over Tehran’s nuclear program.
Iran’s Fars News Agency reported Wednesday that Gargash delivered the letter to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, following earlier speculation about an Arab country acting as an intermediary.
Last week, Trump revealed he had written to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, urging negotiations or threatening military action.
However, Iran has firmly rejected talks under pressure. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian responded defiantly, stating, “Go and do whatever damn thing you want,” while addressing Iranian entrepreneurs.
Pezeshkian, a reformist who has pushed for reviving the 2015 nuclear deal abandoned by Trump in 2018, warned against threats dictating Iran’s policies. “If we are united, no force will be able to restrict our movement,” he added.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader declared that Iranian youth stand ready to confront any enemy, and Foreign Minister Araghchi criticized European nations for failing to uphold their commitments after the U.S. withdrawal from the nuclear deal.
As diplomatic tensions rise, Iran, Russia, and China have launched joint naval drills, signaling Tehran’s readiness to assert its position.
Iranian Navy Commander stated that “any instability in the region will impact the global economy” and warned external forces to “respect the region’s people.”
