A leading private group of the United Arab Emirates has expressed interest in purchasing wheat from Pakistan, official sources said, quoted by Bahrain Tribune.

The Al Ghurair Group is a leader in distribution and marketing of various commodities in the Gulf and Middle East regions, for which it has been importing wheat from Australia.

A two-member fact finding mission of the UAE firm is currently holding meetings with various government departments and high-ups in the Ministry of Commerce to explore the possibilities of striking a deal for up to 300,000 tons of wheat, according to the paper.
