The Federal Environment Agency and the Abu Dhabi National Oil Co will work together on a database on substances which deplete the Earth's ozone layer, reported Gulf News.

The decision was taken by the General Administration of the Federal Environmental Agency (FEA), said the paper.

The FEA was founded in 1993. It has the power to draft, carry out studies and propose general environmental policies in the country.

The agency has also launched a study of the use of unleaded petrol in the UAE. The meeting approved a ban - outlined by the Vienna Agreement and the Montreal Protocol - on the use of chemicals hazardous to ozone, according to the Gulf News – Albawaba.com
