Two Palestinians were shot dead early Thursday in the West Bank city of Tulkarem's refugee camp after they admitted to cooperate with Israel. Masked men shot the two in front of a crowd of people.
Elsewhere, Israeli troops in Hebron demolished the home of Hamas member, Rafiq Mohammed Kanibi, who carried out a shooting attack on Wednesday, wounding two settlers.
According to human rights bodies, 107 Palestinian houses were demolished since the beginning of 2003, of which the month of August witnessed the most violent demolition wave, in which 29 homes were destroyed.
Meanwhile, three senior Fatah members completed a series of meetings Thursday in Washington in a bid to promote a cease-fire agreement among all the Palestinian factions in Israel, it was reported.
The three delegates, Fares Qadura, Mohammed Gneiem and Hatem Abdel Qader met with State Department officials, senators and congressmen and told them that there were no winners in the military standoff between Israel and the
Palestinians and that a comprehensive cease-fire would be the only way to resume negotiations between the sides. (Albawaba.com)
