A "Turkish Bird Atlas" project designed to document Turkey's bird species, the regions in which they live and their habitats has been started in Istanbul, Samsun and Kayseri, Turkish News reported.
The studies will be conducted by ornithologists Sancar Baris, Bahtiyar Kurt and Uygar Ozesmi. Britain's Royal Society for the Protection of Birds member Hilary-Geoff Welch will be the project's foreign coordinator.
Baris told the daily that “the project would be completed in five years.” – Albawaba.com
