Turkey's National Program envisaging necessary reforms to become a full member of the European Union will be announced on Monday, the Anatolia News Agency reported, cited by Turkish Daily News on Friday.
The program will be debated in Monday's cabinet meeting and then will be revealed by Deputy Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz in a press conference. In the following days, it is expected to be submitted to the EU, said the report.
Turkey has repeatedly delayed the presentation of the program apparently due to disagreements within the three-party governing coalition, said the paper, adding that the program will set a timetable for the political, economic, and legal reforms Turkey must undertake for EU membership.
The program constitutes 29 main sections and consists of nearly 1,500 pages. During its preparation all applications and procedures in other EU member countries have been scanned.
