While four tankers were en route to Caracas, Venezuela in late October to unload and sell 1.1 million barrels of oil to the Venezuela government, they were boarded by American officials.
Threatening to use the full force of the U.S. legal system, the officials announced to the crews that their vessels and oil were being commandeered by the U.S. The vessels were reportedly linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corp., who have been aggressively targeted by the Trump Administration.
