Trend Micro, Inc (TSE:4704, NASDAQ: TMIC), a leader in antivirus and Internet content security, presented the future of secure integrated networking solutions at the Cisco Expo 2006 in Doha on March 8.

This emphasises Trend Micro’s strategic approach to deliver comprehensive network worm and virus outbreak-prevention services to help protect networked businesses in the region. As internet threats continue to evolve in their severity and complexity, it is critical that customers deploy comprehensive outbreak-prevention solutions to help build self-defending networks.

“Businesses in the region need to effectively and securely manage their networks, as well as when, where, and how that access occurs. While combating network worms, re-infections, vulnerabilities, and system damage, customers continue to suffer business disruption, so the demand for more sophisticated threat prevention methods increases. The enthusiastic response from participants at the Cisco Expo proves that demand for secure networking solutions will continue to grow throughout 2006. Our participation at this event demonstrates our commitment to deliver a more effective and secure environment for customers by working closely with partners like Cisco Systems,” said Justin Doo, managing director, Trend Micro Middle East and Africa.

This provides customers with seamless integration of IT solutions and helps organisations to better resist emerging security threats. Trend Micro works with Cisco on the Network Admission Control (NAC), and other developments in security solutions. NAC is a set of technologies and solutions built on an industry initiative led by Cisco Systems, which uses the network infrastructure to enforce security on all devices that are attached to a network.

Trend Micro also works with Cisco to provide an end-to-end security solution, the Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) 5500 series. This offers organisations customised and comprehensive protection against a variety of security threats.

“This new services card provides universal threat prevention and content control at the network edge, delivering antivirus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, anti-phishing, URL blocking and filtering, and content filtering services from Trend Micro. Our shared commitment is to provide the most comprehensive and flexible network security solutions enable us to help protect customers against threats that are increasingly unpredictable and complex,” said Tiberio Molino, product marketing manager, Trend Micro.
