The Ultimate Personal Entertainment Experience
The integration of HD DVD-ROM into Toshiba’s flagship notebook PC enables users to enjoy high-definition content anywhere in the home or on the move with external power. For richer sound the Qosmio® G30 incorporates the world’s first (1) 1-bit digital amplifier in a notebook PC, technology which is often only featured in high-end audio systems, and new bass-reflex speaker technology from Harman Kardon®, allowing greater amplification and clarity.
Furthermore, SRS Audio Enhancement System with SRS® WOW HD and SRS® TruSurround XT™ technology combines to create virtual surround sound and present a sound feature set which is unparalleled in the mobile computing space while the Dolby Home Theater™ delivers a richer, more engaging surround sound experience from stereo or multichannel audio sources through headphone, 2- or 5.1-channel speaker systems.
Complementing advanced audio functionality the Qosmio® G30 offers an improved Toshiba TruBrite™ display with enhanced colour saturation for more life-like images that supports resolutions up to 1080p signal format. Equipped with the QosmioEngine for high image quality, the Qosmio® G30 features NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7600 with 256MB VRAM graphics processing capabilities, providing high performance graphics when gaming or enjoying a favourite film.
Outstanding Wireless Communication
In addition to state of the art multimedia functionality the Qosmio® G30 provides users with powerful PC capabilities including Microsoft® Windows® Media Center Edition 2005 and Intel® Centrino® Duo mobile technology-based platform built around Intel’s first mobile dual-core processor for faster data handling and greater mobility. Featuring the full range of connectivity options including wireless LAN 802.11 b/g, USB ports, a PC Card as well as a PCI Express Card slot, the Qosmio® G30 enables users to efficiently access remote data and stay connected on the go.
The benefits of HD DVD drive includes discs that offer 30GB of storage capacity, enough for playing long-running high-definition movies or even longer standard definition content such as series on a format that is less sensitive to surface blemishes and fingerprints.
Combining stunning visual detail and enhanced audio capabilities, the HD DVD drive equipped Qosmio® will allow consumers to be able to enjoy high-definition video content anywhere in the home or on the go with external power. With its similar disc structure, HD DVD is backwards compatible with the current DVD formats. The drive can read or write current DVD formats, allowing users to continue playing compatible discs in their existing DVD collections, offering the optimum personal entertainment and mobile computing experience.
The Qosmio® G30 will be available in Q2 2006. Price and specific model number for the next-generation Qosmio with integrated HD DVD will be announced closer to availability.

2. Memory (Main System). Part of the main system memory may be used by the graphics system for graphics performance and therefore reduce the amount of main system memory available for other computing activities. The amount of main system memory allocated to support graphics may vary depending on the graphics system, applications utilized, system memory size and other factors. For PC's configured with 4 GB of system memory, the full system memory space for computing activities will be considerably less and will vary by model and system configuration.
* Some DVD discs may not be compatible.
* Some advanced HD DVD features may be limited in initial products.
* CPU/GPU performance during HD DVD playback will be optimized only when operating in the AC power mode. Performance may decrease considerably and HD DVD playback time may be very limited when operating in the battery power mode. Toshiba recommends operation in the AC power mode for your enjoyment of HD DVD content.
*Because HD DVD is a new format that makes use of new technologies, certain disc, digital connection and other compatibility and/or performance issues are possible. When viewing HD DVD content requiring high bit rate video stream support, you may experience “frame dropping” or lower performance.
