Toshiba’s Computer Systems Division has appointed Samer A. Sayed as Sales and Marketing Manager dedicated to Saudi Arabia, to fortify their market leadership and strengthen their expansion plans in the Kingdom.
According to Ahmed Khalil, Regional General Manager, Toshiba is keen on tapping into the immense potential of the Saudi market place, and this new appointment is part of an overall strategy to strengthen their presence in the Kingdom. "We are confident that until 2009, Saudi Arabia will witness an ever-increasing growth in the sales of portable computers. The extremely high purchasing power, the growing interest in new products and technology, and increased awareness levels jointly signal very bright prospects. The consumer market is currently the fastest growing segment, and Toshiba is well positioned to offer consumers the right products for their needs.
"We have just strengthened our presence in the Kingdom by appointing a senior sales and marketing person based and dedicated to the country. This move lends support to the growth in the market, and allows us to get closer to our consumers, partners and enterprise customers," he explained.

Prior to this appointment, Sayed was Country Manager - Personal Systems Group, HP, and has previously worked at t Systems Communication House Ltd, Modern Electronic Establishment, Saudi Arabian Computer Management Consultants (SACMAC) and Saudi American Bank (SAMBA). His experience spans the gamut of the IT business including sales, marketing, channel management and business development.
