Bahrain's King Hamad on Sunday awarded the highest Bahraini medal to visiting US General Tommy Franks, who led US forces in the war against Iraq, according to BNA news agency.
The award was in recognition of Franks' efforts to promote Bahrain-US relations, the agency said.
It added that King Hamad hailed the General's contribution to enhancing "military coordination" between Manama and Washington, and praised US efforts to push forward the Middle East peace process. (Albawaba.com)
