Toll Rises to 18 Dead, 81 Injured in Single Attack in Russia

The casualty toll in a car bomb explosion Saturday in Mineralnye Vody has risen to 18 dead and 81 injured, Russian Interior Ministry official Sergei Mikhailov said on Moscow Echo radio. 

A second car bomb in Yesentuky, 30 kilometers (18 miles) southwest of Mineralnye Vody, in Russia's troubled north Caucasus region, wounded 12 people. 

Two policeman were killed in the neighboring republic of Karachayevo-Cherkesya when a third bomb exploded in a car while they were trying to clear the area. 

The toll from the three Saturday incidents stood at 20 dead and 93 injured – MOSCOW (AFP)
