The toll of dead and missing from the terror strike on the World Trade Center now stands at 5,124, New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik said Saturday.
He told a news conference that 152 bodies had been recovered from the rubble of the Center's twin towers, of which 92 had been identified.
"The number of missing people as of this morning stands at 4,972," Kerik said.
He said the dead included eight city firefighters and one fireman from New Jersey.
On Friday night, Kerik said 23 policemen were among those still missing and presumed dead -- NEW YORK (AFP)
