An international forum on natural gas will open in Tehran on Saturday.
The ministerial-level forum will be attended by 11 countries that have some 75 percent of the world's natural gas reserves at their disposal, reported the Tehran Times newspaper.
The Iranian Oil Ministry, which is hosting the forum, has taken an important step toward facilitating the exchange of views and flow of data among major gas producing countries of the world, said the paper.
In addition to the host country, which ranks second in the world in terms of gas reserves, Russia and Qatar, which rank first and third, respectively, in this regard, are among the participants in the forum.
Five of the countries attending the Tehran forum are members of OPEC – Albawaba.com
