Syrian President Bashar Al Assad will visit Russia this year at the invitation of his counterpart, Vladimir Putin, reported the Russian Itar-Tass news agency, quoted by the official Kuwaiti news agency, KUNA.
Tass quoted well-informed sources as saying the invitation was passed to Syrian Foreign Minister Farouq Al Shara during his visit to Moscow last April.
