Syrian Foreign Minister receives Russian Mid-East envoy for talks

Syria’s Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara received in Damascus Tuesday Russia’s Special Middle-East envoy André Vidovin and an accompanying delegation. 

 

In the course of the meeting, talks dealt with the latest regional developments as well as Israel's policy regarding the Palestinian territories, which violate the exerted efforts to put an end to the tension in the region, the official Syrian Arab news agency reported. 

 

Al-Shara, for his part, stressed that the comprehensive compromise and just resolutions are the necessary means to preserve the just and comprehensive peace. 

 

In a statement to reporters, Vidovin said that the most important thing was to stop the firing and to reach a political dialogue to implement the “Road Map”, SANA added. 

 

He indicated that Moscow supported the comprehensive resolutions in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, and that issue needed intensified efforts and study, the agency concluded. (Albawaba.com)
