A suspected suicide car bomb has detonated outside a police station in Iraq, reportedly killing at least two people and wounding 14 policemen.
Local police and doctors said the two dead were both civilians who were passing by the police station. The bomber was also killed.
The blast occurred in the town of Baquba, northeast of Baghdad. A police officer at the scene reported seeing a white vehicle racing towards the station, just moments before the explosion. Witnesses said the blast was so powerful, many people were thrown to the ground.
Meanwhile, US troops have captured a former Baath Party official who was number 54 on the list of 55 most "wanted" figures from Saddam Hussein’s regime.
Khamis Sirhan al-Muhammad, a former regional Baath Party chairman and militia commander, was captured on Sunday in the Ramadi area west of Baghdad, said Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt, according to The AP. (Albawaba.com)
