Israeli police and Shin Bet security service members arrested six Palestinians on Wednesday for allegedly killing two Israelis in the Galilee last April, reported Haaretz newspaper.

The report said that Simha Ron, 58, from Nahariya, was murdered and his body was found near the entrance to the village of Ba’ana in the eastern Galilee. A short time later Dina Gueta, from Haifa, was found murdered in the lower part of the city.

According to the police, both murders had “nationalistic motives.”

The paper said that the six Palestinians are residents of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, adding that four other suspects managed to flee to areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority.

The paper claimed that the arrested confessed that they had established “a small cell intended to carry out attacks against Israel, and had named it Umar Al Mukhatar.”

The suspects allegedly said that they had received orders from a Jordanian resident.

Shin Bet, however, said that it was investigating the possibility that the cell was being operated by the Lebanese Hizbollah organization, said the paper – Albawaba.com
