Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Minister of Defense Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum assured businessmen on Saturday that the UAE would maintain its economy unaffected by stresses around the globe, and keep its investment climate warm, the Gulf News reported Sunday.

"Our country has always and will remain [solid]," Sheikh Mohammed told directors of local and international firms, specialized in organizing various exhibitions, said the Dubai-based paper.

Sheikh Mohammad said that no official or commercial activities in the emirate should be cancelled as a consequence of the international developments, because the country is “not in a state of war.”

He directed senior officials to continue respecting and appreciating nationals and expatriates of all nationalities regardless of their religion.

The crown prince further stressed that the directors of trade centers and tourism bureaus must send messages to international companies assuring them that the UAE maintains and will continue to maintain the economic, commercial and civilized position that has won the country "great respect and trust at both regional and international levels."

He expressed satisfaction with the success of the Index interiors and Gitex information technology exhibitions, “which had surprised the pessimists due to the current tense situation worldwide” – Albawaba.com
