Dozens of villages in the mountainous southwestern region of the Saudi Kingdom have been cut off after five days of torrential summer rains, according to a newspaper report.

On Tuesday, Okaz reported that over 13,000 people and some 50 villages have been cut off, especially in Jizan province.

For his part, Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz ordered Jizan governor Mohammed bin Nasser to "provide emergency aid" to these people, the report added. (Albawaba.com)
