Saudi foreign minister Saud al-Faisal held Saturday talks with Tunisian President Zein al-Abideen bin Ali on several issues concerning ways of strengthening bilateral ties and as well as finding ways to revive the peace process in the Middle East, reported the Saudi press Agency (SPA).
The minister was quoted by the agency as saying that his visit was part of continuous bilateral consultations, and described bilateral ties with Tunis as historic and deep-rooted.
At some 600 million dollars, private investment by Saudi residents in Tunisia exceeds investments from other Arab countries, said AFP.
Some 8,000 Tunisians, mainly teachers and health care and hotel workers, live in Saudi Arabia.
Kuwait's News Agency (KUNA) reported last week that the Saudi minister will head Sunday to Morocco for holding talks with top officials.
KUNA added that Prince Saud is expected to co-chair a Saudi-Moroccan joint committee meeting scheduled to be held in Rabat next Tuesday.
