Saudi interior minister dismissed warnings by Western states that terror attacks may be imminent in the kingdom, saying in it was "their business."
But in the same context, Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz also vowed to wipe out terrorism in Saudi Arabia and pledged that Saudis who have taken to the streets at the behest of an exiled dissident group would be treated as outlaws.
When asked about the Western warnings issued in the past few days, Prince Nayef told the Saudi-owned pan-Arab daily newspaper Al-Hayat "This is their business, and their business alone."
"It is no secret that the kingdom will press ahead with its war on terror until this rotten seed is uprooted from our soil," Nayef said.
"Security forces will not hesitate to detain any suspect or anyone who tries to shelter, or cover up for, any of the wanted (persons)," he conveyed.
Additionally, Prince Nayef noted the authorities would not tolerate demonstrations of the kind that were reported in Riyadh and three other cities earlier this month.
The protesters were "outlaws" who took orders from "outside" and would be treated as such, the Saudi minister added. "They also tried to instigate strife in the country." (Albawaba.com)
