Saudi Arabia Pledges $380,000 to OIC Science Committee

Saudi Arabia has pledged to contribute $380,000 as part of its financial support to the Organization of Islamic Conference’s Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) over a period of four years, reported the official Iranian news agency (IRNA). 

The announcement came during a meeting Monday between Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Saeed Mohammad and Pakistani President Muhammad Rafiq Tarar, said the agency.  

Tarar is the chairman of COMSTECH. 

“King Fahd has reiterated the continued Saudi support for the programs of COMSTECH and the scientific and technological development of the Islamic Ummah,” a statement said, cited by the agency – Albawaba.com
