Saad Hariri slams Syria

Lebanese legislator, Saad Hariri, has accused Syria of trying to topple Lebanon's democracy. "The Syrian regime is waging war against Lebanon to change its democratic political system," the sone of slain Lebanon's ex-premier Rafic al Hariri said in an interview with Dubai-based Arabiya satellite television network.

He described the Syrian regime as "terrorist." "They used to have friends and persons who were ready to help them before Feb. 14," said Hariri in reference to the day his father was assassinated. "Many politicians had advised Syria to act differently, but it did not listen. Therefore, it will reap what it has sowed," said Hariri.

He noted he was not interested in becoming a prime minister at this time. "Do you want me to experience what my father went through with (president) Emile Lahoud?"
