Russian Vice Premier Ilya Klebanov will visit Algeria May 25-27, where he will meet representatives of practically all the ministries of the Algerian government to discuss joint projects, reported the Russian Novosty news agency.
A number of joint projects in the oil-and-gas sector, irrigation industry, as well as in the metallurgy and water supply fields are expected to be discussed. In addition, a set of issues related to military and technological cooperation will be considered, said the agency.
According to Ilya Klebanov, a project for the construction of a 430-kilometer gas pipeline will be also be discussed. The Russian Stroitransgaz organization won the tender for construction of the pipeline.
In his trip, the vice premier will be accompanied by representatives of LUKoil, Gazprom, Rosneft, Tyazhpromexport and other major Russian companies.
Algeria is also interested in arms deals with Russia, in return for investment opportunities to be offered by Algiers, according to previous reports – Albawaba.com
