Israel’s Army Radio reported Tuesday that a Palestinian man was killed by Fateh members in the village of Deir El Ruson, near the West Bank city of Tulkarem, for allegedly collaborating with Israel.
The radio identified him as Adnan Atawa, saying he was locally known for his past dealings with the Israeli government.
In mid-August, a Palestinian man was condemned to death by a security court in Gaza for collaborating with Israel, the sixth such case in two weeks.
Khaled Al Akka, 28, was found guilty of providing Israeli security forces with information that led to the killing of Massud Ayyad, a commander of the Palestinian Presidential Guards Unit, Force 17.
Five other men have been sentenced to die in the last two weeks by a Palestinian security court in Nablus in the West Bank.
Palestinian President Yasser Arafat has yet to ratify the verdicts.
Two Palestinians found guilty of collaboration were executed by a firing squad on January 13. They were the first collaborators to be executed since the Palestinian Authority was set up in 1994.
Three other Palestinians suspected of collaborating have been gunned down by masked assailants in the Israeli-occupied territories since the beginning of the month.
Palestinian officials say that over 50 political leaders and resistance fighters have been killed under Israel's assassination policy, variously called by the euphemisms "targeted killings," "liquidations," "surgical strikes," and "interception operations."
