Hollywood hunk Brendan Fraser loved playing a rock star in his new film; but audiences hated it. Fraser stars opposite Elizabeth Hurley’s devil in Bedazzled and takes on seven different characters, one of whom is a raucous rocker. He says, "forget about acting. It's all about rock n' roll. It was great fun. There was a song that was written by a guy from Metallica. We performed it like shooting a rock video, lip-synching with many thousands of extras in a stadium downtown in LA If I may be so bold, it looked like it was the inspirational documentary footage where the guys from Spinal Tap were like, `Yeah, let's make that film!'" But writer/director Harold Ramis was not at all surprised test audiences in America were appalled by Brendan's foul-mouthed singer. He laughs, "Brendan is transformed into the scummiest British rock star you've ever seen! He throws up on the drummer - he's falling off the stage. It's a little Sid and Nancy homage. So he's just this obnoxious jerk. And the audience looked at it and said, `My God, that's not the nice sweet Brendan we're used to!'" – Wenn.
