Acting Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani wrapped up on Wednesday a three-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Rabbani discussed during his visit to the country with Sheikh Mohammad, Dubai Crown Prince, the political and security situation in Afghanistan, UAE’s official news agency reported.

Rabbani had reviewed with Sheikh Mohammad the political future of Afghanistan in light of the inter-Afghan conference, which is being hosted by Bonn, following the defeat of Taliban’s ruling militia.

Rabbani told WAM that Sheikh Mohammad had stressed the importance of forming a coalition government of Afghanistan’s political parties so that political and economic peace and stability could prevail.

Sheikh Mohammad, who is also UAE Defense Minister, called on Afghan factions to "form a representative coalition government to re-establish security and stability" in Afghanistan.

Rabbani expressed gratitude to President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for his humanitarian stance towards the people of Afghanistan.

He was seen off by Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director of Dubai Information Department and a number of officials – Albawaba.com
