A pro-Palestine forum held in Tehran has voiced alarm over Israel's alleged violation of international conventions and the "danger" posed by its nuclear arsenal.
"Israel has a nuclear arsenal and other weapons of mass destruction, posing a danger for peace and regional stability," delegates cautioned in a final statement Monday, received by AFP News Agency.
"The non-respect of international conventions is also a danger," they said, referring to "terrible atrocities" committed by Israel for which the United States was "totally responsible" due to its support of the Jewish state.
The statement further called for an embargo on American products in Muslim countries and a ban on advertising for such goods.
"We expect Islamic governments to allow the Arab and Muslim peoples to help the intifada and the resistance of the Palestinian people," said the delegates from some 30 different countries.
Amongst the participants were the heads of hardline Palestinian groups such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, Ahmed Jibril, and of the Islamic Jihad, Ramadan Abdullah Shallah.
Meanwhile, during a closing address, former Iranian president Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said the three outside parties most at fault for the deteriorating situation of the Palestinians were the United States, Britain and United Nations.
"All three are guilty of the destruction and aggression carried out in the occupied territories," he said, calling upon an "impartial country" or international tribunal not linked to the United Nations to try Israeli "war criminals". (Albawaba.com)
