Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) will be hosting its Open Day over a period of three days May 18th – 20th. This is the first time in PSUT history that the university extends its Open Day to cover three days. It came in line with PSUT’s strategy to enhance its relations with its different target publics, and as an effort to allow prospective students, educators, and prominent leaders to visit the institution and experience the university’s educational atmosphere.
The Open Day will be three consecutive days, each day with its own agenda. The first day, the nation’s officials and executives such as ministers, embassy officials, and government officials from both the public and private sector will be given a tour of graduation projects by her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya Bint El- Hassan and Board members. The second day will be a guided tour by university students for prospective students from different high schools.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya Bint El-Hassan, PSUT’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees stated, “The purpose of the tours is not only for the public to observe the facilities, programs and campus, but for them to interact and witness the spirit, loyalty, ambition and vision of both the administration and students.”
Also during the first two days Comcent, a general IT Trading Company and Information Technology Total Solutions Provider and Systems Integrator, will be showcasing a hands-on experience on a revolutionary educational tool titled InterWrite Suite. The InterWrite Suite is an electronic whiteboard that enhances the levels of interaction in classrooms and meetings. The InterWrite product features an interactive whiteboard, a Bluetooth enabled wireless pad, and the InterWrite Software.
On the third day, PSUT will be holding a fun day full of music, food and fun activities. A DJ will be present to set the mood with traditional music and folklore dancing along with popular music in Arabic and English. Many games such as trampolines and a bull rider will be for those who enjoy active activities. Activities such as henna tattoos, face paintings, handicrafts as well as many others will be for those who enjoy relaxing and ornamenting themselves. Food such as barbeque and Domino’s Pizza will also be present to satisfy the taste buds along with a chocolate fountain for those with a sweet tooth. Also NGOs, IT, and different business corporations such as AccessMe, Jordan Commercial Bank, and King Abdullah II Design & Development Bureau will also be participating in the event.
Dr. Hisham Ghassib, President of PSUT stated, “This event is the first of its kind at PSUT as the institution targets the nation’s key leaders as well as prospective and current students. We hope to create a touch of unity and commonality between the leaders and administration as well as the enrolled and prospective students. The event coincides with PSUT’s public relations initiative as the university represents itself in a unique light and becomes a campus dedicated to the students and their welfare in addition to upholding their academic reputation as one of the nation’s top specialized IT, communication and electronic universities.”
