Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has announced that its major projects like the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai Techno Park and Nakheel, are generating huge interest at the UAE-Italy Economic Partnership Forum 2005, currently being held in Milan, Italy. PCFC is focusing its efforts on increasing Italian investment in Dubai, at the three-day Forum, which concludes on June 10th.
During the forum, Mahmoud Saleh, Executive Director of Shared Services and Secretary General of The Corporate Office (TCO), gave a presentation illustrating the remarkable growth of the UAE and the opportunities available for investors in the various projects at PCFC.
“The forum is aimed at facilitating close business ties between the two countries, with the UAE inviting Italian companies from key industrial sectors to invest in the Emirates. UAE shares a long and successful history of bilateral trade with Italy. Our participation in an important event such as the UAE-Italy Partnership Forum, will present new avenues for business between the two countries. We are certain that a large section of the Italian business community will show keen interest in investing in various projects in PCFC. The Jebel Ali Free Zone and Dubai Techno Park, with its high quality infrastructure, present attractive investment options for wide ranging industrial sectors,” said Mahmoud Saleh.
The delegation headed by Mahmoud Saleh, also included Francis Veldeman, CEO, Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza), Ibrahim Al Janahi, Regional Manager Europe – Jafza, Abdulla Al Qurashi, CEO – Dubai Techno Park and Mahdar Al-Tamimi, Group Senior Sales Manager – Nakheel.
The forum will discuss ways to enhance cooperation between UAE and Italy in core areas including information technology, industrial joint ventures, transfer of technology, construction, infrastructure development, health services and finance.
UAE’s strategic location between Asia and Europe and our proximity to key markets in Central Asia, the Indian subcontinent and Africa, are factors that could boost the Italian business community to invest in UAE, besides the range of incentives and facilities offered to investors in TCO’s projects.
