Suha Arafat, wife of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, arrived in Abu Dhabi on Thursday to participate in celebrations of Arab Woman's Day and Arab Women Media Forum (AWMF) in Abu Dhabi, according to Emirates News Agency.
The First Lady was welcomed upon her arrival at the Abu Dhabi Emiri airport by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the UAE President's wife and Chairwoman of the UAE General Women's Union (GWU).
The party welcoming the First Lady also included Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan, wife of Sheikh Hamadn bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikha Khowla bint Ahmed Al Suwaidi, wife of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the President's Private Department, Nour Al Suwaidi, GWU Director, wives of senior officials, GWU leaders, and wife of the Palestinian ambassador.
The GWU will observe on Friday the Arab Woman's Day in a fancy ceremony, while the AWMF will be held from February 2 and 3. (Albawaba.com)
