Palestinian killed in West Bank raid as prisoner dies in Israeli jail

Israeli forces Thursday killed a Palestinian in the West Bank city of Tulkarem. According to press reports, the 30 year old man was identified as Muayyed Musa. Israel said he was an Islamic Jihad activist, while Palestinian sources dismissed this claim, saying he was an innocent farmer. 

 

Palestinian official sources said that a Palestinian prisoner died , on Thursday, in an Israeli prison. Sofian Abu Zaideh, Palestinian Minister of Prisoners Affairs, said, in a statement issued Thursday that Jawad Abu Mghassib, 18, from Deir Al-Balah city, south of Gaza Strip, suffered a disease in the kidney and died because of the medical carelessness.

 

According to information from the prison, the health of Abu Mghassib deteriorated Wednesday night but the administration of the prison refused to carry him to a health centre. On Thursday morning he died, according to, the statement.

 

Meanwhile, several Palestinians wounded in the West bank city of Ramallah when Israeli occupation forces opened fire at a demonstration against the construction of the so called "security wall."

Eyewitnesses told WAFA that Israeli soldiers fired rubber metal bullets and teargas canisters towards protestors while they demonstrated against the continuing construction in Bil'in village.

Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli forces swept into Hebron city and nabbed three Palestinians.
