Palestinian girl dies of wounds as house destroyed in West Bank

A 12-year-old Palestinian girl that sustained serious wounds by Israeli gunfire few days ago in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah died on Thursday, Palestinian medical sources said. 

 

The sources said that Iman Barhoom was shot by Israeli troops' on July 30 in Rafah, and was hospitalized in a critical condition until she died of her wounds on Thursday morning. 

 

It should be recalled that Israeli forces killed Wednesday night two children in the northern Gaza Strip city of Jabyliya, Palestinian medical sources said. 

 

Medics at Odwan Hospital, in Jabalyia, told WAFA that the 15-year-old Wael Abu Jedian, of Beit Lahiya, was killed when Israeli soldiers opened fire at houses in Tal al-Za’tar area. 

 

Medics added that the child Ali Abu Elba was killed as Israeli troops opened fire at a Palestinian security post, west of Jabalyia Refugee camp. 

 

In the West Bank, Israeli soldiers destroyed on Thursday a house in the city of Bethlehem. Local sources said that Israeli troops backed by tanks and armoured vehicles stormed al-Dheisha refugee camp, and opened heavy machine gunfire at houses. 

 

They added that Israeli soldiers launched a house-to-house search campaign and besieged a house belonging to Helmi Hmash, 23. 

 

Eyewitness said that Israeli special engineering unit broke into the two storey house, dynamiting it and then blowing it up.  

 

Earlier, Israeli forces arrested Wednesday night two palestinians in the West Bank City of al-Bereh, witnesses said. According to them, the Israelis stormed the city, started a house search operation, besieged a building and arrested Tha’er Hejazi, leading him to an unknown spot. 

 

They added that Israeli soldiers also arrested an unidentified woman and led her to unrevealed location. (albawaba.com)
