In Iran, Majlis Speaker Mehdi Karroubi, during a meeting with visiting Palestinian Foreign Minister Farouk
Kaddoumi in Tehran on Saturday stressed his country’s continuing support for the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation.
"The Palestinian issue was an underlying theme of the Islamic Revolution," Karroubi said, emphasizing Tehran's unwavering support for the oppressed Palestinian nation, according to IRNA news agency.
He slammed the United States’ biased policies in support of the Israeli regime, adding that peace would continue to evade the region until the legitimate rights of the Palestinians are restored.
"Today, despite several attempts and plots to play down the freedom struggle of the Palestinians, the movement is one of the most significant in the international arena," Karroubi said, according to the agency.
On his part, the Palestinian foreign minister, praised Iran for its strong support of the Palestinian nation. (Albawaba.com)
