The Palestinian embassy was opened in Baghdad Sunday, at a ceremony attended by Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz and a number of Palestinian official, Palestine News Agency (WAFA) reported.
The agency quoted Aziz as saying at the event that "Palestine will be free [soon] with Jerusalem crowned as its Capital.”
He said that the Palestinians were welcome to "their second home," and he wished for a better relationship between the two countries.
Iraq has shown remarkable support for the Palestinians and the Intifada. In addition to the one million euros promise by Iraq to the Palestinians, an army of seven million volunteers has been formed “to liberate Palestine.”
