British Airways today announced that due to an overwhelming demand from customers for travel to the USA and Canada in World Traveller (economy), seats are no longer available to purchase at the summer sale prices.
However, seats are still currently available to popular North American destinations in World Traveller Plus (premier economy) as well as to the UK in both World Traveller and World Traveller Plus.
From Dhs 3950 customers can travel from Abu Dhabi or Dubai to the USA or Canada and enjoy seven inches more legroom, double hand-baggage allowance and the increased privacy available in the airline’s premium economy cabin. Customers will also be eligible to join British Airways’ frequent flyer programme, the Executive Club and earn more BA Miles when travelling in this cabin.
Prices to the UK in World Traveller start from just Dhs 1,400 when departing from Abu Dhabi and from Dhs 2,250 when departing from Dubai. And from just an additional Dhs 1,000 customers can upgrade to World Traveller Plus.
“Our sales have always proven to be extremely popular. This time the overwhelming demand for economy fares to North Atlantic destinations has resulted in full capacity in our World Traveller cabin. However, family travellers can still fly British Airways and enjoy extra comfort in our World Traveller Plus premier economy cabin at giveaway prices when choosing to visit the US and Canada,” said Deborah Frampton, British Airways Manager for the UAE.
Customers can book and pay online at ba.com and receive an e-ticket instantly. Through the Manage my booking function travellers can request a seat, pre-request meals, view the travel itinerary and Advance Passenger Information (API) required by US and Canadian immigration in advance of travel. There are also special prices on British Airways Holidays hotels and car hire when these are booked and paid for online at ba.com.
For ticket bookings, customers can telephone British Airways in Dubai on 3075393 before May 17, 2006. Alternatively, they can visit their local travel agent or log on to ba.com.
