Omani police said they were successful in blocking a defraud operation and detained six Malaysians who were trying to use modern technology to withdraw money from ATM machines.
The police said in a statement Sunday that the six individuals were attempting to attach advanced electronic devices onto ATM machines of different banks throughout the Omani capital, Muscat. The statement, cited by BNA, added that the police received a call from one of the citizens saying that he witnessed foreigners attaching equipment to an ATM machine.
