Bahrain should be marketed as the ideal gateway to the Middle East for international tourists, said a senior travel industry member on Friday.
The newly-appointed World Travel Service (WTS) general manager, Hisham Al Baradie, urged Bahraini authorities to start working now on a Destination Bahrain 2002 campaign, the Gulf Daily News quoted him as saying.
“Bahrain has the potential to be branded as a destination on its own merits,” he told the paper.
However, a collective effort is required from all the parties concerned, Tourism Affairs, the Association of Bahrain Travel and Tours Agents, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gulf Air and other airlines, he said.
“We have all the components to attract international tourists, but these have to be put together to make the product harmonious and enjoyable,” he said – Albawaba.com
