In its efforts to improve bus services in the emirate, the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai will be implementing several important changes in bus services with effect from June 1, 2006.

A fare of AED 1.50 will be introduced for bus route 60, which operates as an internal service in the New Vegetable and Fruit Market in the Ras Al Khor Industrial Area.

From the first of June, bus route 66 which runs from Al Gubaiba to Al Faqa will not stop at Al Lisaili and Tawe Murra, while a new route - 67 – with same fare, will be introduced to run between Al Gubaiba bus station and Seh As'shuayeb via Al Lisaili and Tawe Murra.

Abdul Aziz Mallik, Director of Public Buses said, "We are currently studying various bus routes in Dubai and making necessary changes to ensure that a larger number of people are benefited from public transport services. Also, altering bus routes in a planned manner will lead to easing traffic congestions on busy roads. RTA will be introducing new bus routes and increasing the frequency of buses along key areas to cater to the growing number of bus commuters in the emirate.”
