National Air Services (NAS), the leading private aviation company in the Middle East, reengineers itself for growth by injecting SR 665 million and realigning its management and business units. NAS’ Executive Committee also announced today the appointment of Mr. Taher Agueel as the new Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Agueel joins NAS following a distinguished career in investment banking where he held leading roles in a number of government agencies and financial institutions. Most recently, he was the CEO of Deutsche Al Azizia Financial Services, a partnership between Al Azizia Commercial Investment Company and Deutsche Bank.
Mr. Agueel will lead NAS at a crucial time of its development as it expands into new business lines in the commercial and private aviation arenas to better serve its growing customer base in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
The company's change initiative is being driven by the hiring and formation of a new management team, which brings with it world class expertise in private and commercial aviation. New positions of Deputy CEOs and Managing Directors have been established to head up each of the business lines and service units, which include Al Khayala Airlines, NetJets Middle East, Aircraft Management Services, Special Projects, Safety, Quality, Engineering and Maintenance, Operations and Human Resources.
Mr. Agueel said that with liberalization of the aviation sector, rapid expansion in the national economy and a growing population, the Saudi aviation market is poised for tremendous growth in the next few years. “We at NAS have taken the necessary strategic actions and are now well positioned to benefit from this opportunity by delivering a complete range of innovative aviation services to all segments of the traveling community”.
