Mubarak, Jordan king discuss Palestinian crisis

Jordanian King Abdullah II held talks on Wednesday with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo where they discussed ways of bringing back Israelis and Palestinians back to the negotiation table.

 

Cairo Radio said the two leaders also dealt with issues regarding the recent tensions between Palestinian factions and the call by the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to respect and spare the Palestinian blood. The Egyptian radio also mentioned the talks centered on ways of energizing peace talks in light of the expected visit by United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to the region.

 

The Jordanian king was accompanied by Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, Director of the King’s Office Basim Awadallah, Foreign Minister Abdul Ilah Al Khatib and Director of the Intelligence Department, Major General Mohammad Al Thahabi.
