Moroccan Prime Minister Abderrahman Youssoufi said upon his arrival in Amman Tuesday that the Arabs should work on creating a Palestinian state.

Youssoufi, who arrived from Damascus, said the Arab states should work towards translating recent British and US pledges on the creation of a Palestinian state into reality.

“Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's massacres (of the Palestinians) can only be stopped if the world public opinion, the US and Britain move in that direction,” Youssoufi was quoted by the Jordan Times as saying.

He added that “while Arabs were ready to join the war against terrorism, Sharon should not be given a chance to exploit the situation in order to execute his hidden schemes.”

The visiting prime minister held preliminary talks with his Jordanian counterpart Ali Abul Ragheb on Tuesday, a day before the two prime ministers were due to co-chair a meeting of the Higher Joint Jordanian-Moroccan Committee, the Amman-based paper said – Albawaba.com
